The Western Bulldogs have secured a commanding 18-point win over Carlton VFLW on Sunday morning at Mission Whitten Oval.

With AFLW star Ellie Blackburn among the inclusions, the Bulldogs dominated in the 6.7 (43) to 3.7 (25) victory, showcasing their prowess at home.

The match kicked off with an intense exchange, marked by nine stoppages within the first five minutes and robust tackles from both sides.

However, it was Keeley Hardingham who ignited the Bulldogs' momentum, netting two consecutive goals in the opening term, leaving Carlton scoreless at the first break.

The Bulldogs continued their dominance in the second quarter, maintaining possession within their forward 50 for the majority of the term.

Blackburn stamped her impactful return to the game, notching her first goal to inflict a 22-point lead for the Bulldogs at half-time, with Carlton still yet to register a goal.

The third term saw Renee Saulitis and Millie Klingbeil extending the Dogs' lead with impressive goals, showcasing the team's clinical performance and adept use of space.

Heading into the final quarter, the Bulldogs held a comfortable 33-point advantage, leaving Carlton struggling to find an answer.

However, the visitors staged a spirited fightback in the last quarter, rapidly notching three goals while keeping the Bulldogs scoreless in the early stages, closing the margin to 20 points.

Yet, it was Saulitis who came through for the Bulldogs - sealing the deal with a crucial goal, providing the much-needed buffer to secure victory.

Standout performances on the day included Hardingham's stellar display, contributing two goals, 24 disposals, five tackles and 20 hit outs.

Blackburn's skilful presence was felt with one goal, 21 disposals, seven marks and five clearances, while Ashleigh Snow impressed with 19 disposals, six marks and two tackles.

Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will face the top-ranked Box Hill Hawks at home next Sunday, aiming to carry their winning momentum forward and further solidify their position in the ladder standings.
