Sunbury man John Lilley has lost thirteen kilograms since Christmas thanks to the Club’s Sons of the West men’s health program, now in its fourth year of operation.

Lilley is one of fifty men who have signed up for the program since it was introduced to Sunbury for the first time this year.

Speaking to the Star Weekly, Lilley said that for him, the program was about more than weight loss, it also been good for building relationships in his local area.

“I like it because of the company,” he said.  “You meet friends.”

Lilley and some of his new friends have also formed a walking group; last week walking around Sunbury to raise money for the Heart Foundation.

Sons of the West will be part of a free tradie breakfast as part of Men’s Health Week at Bunnings Sunbury from 7.30-9am on Thursday, June 15, where men can pick up tips to live and work healthier.
