Lachie Hunter’s ability to find the footy this season has left even some of his own teammates in awe according to first year defender Marcus Adams.

Hunter will play his 50th game this weekend against Sydney, and Adams said that he’s been never seen anything like the 21-year-old ball magnet.

“Lachie’s work rate is just amazing,” Adams told westernbulldogs.com.au after training on Tuesday.

“He gets up and down the whole field and he’s accumulating possessions this year like I’ve never seen before.

“His improvement this year, and throughout his whole career… he’s been a really good player.”

Despite being playing just his 12th game this weekend against the Swans, Adams, at 23, has two years on the Western Jets product, something that makes Hunter’s achievement even more impressive, according to Adams.

“I didn’t realise how young he was but to get to 50 games so early in his career it’s a real credit to him.”

Adams spent the bye weekend with family and friends in Perth but said he can’t wait for the second half of the season to begin.

Two weeks ago against Geelong, he spent the majority of the game matched up with Geelong big man Tom Hawkins, and this week faces one of the biggest challenges in football for a defender, Lance Franklin.

Adams said he expects he’ll cross paths with the high-flying Swan at some point, but for the most part he said it will take a team effort to curtail his influence.

“Obviously, he’s a great player and has been for some time, so we’ll be requiring all 18 blokes to get involved on defence to try and put a stop to his influence.”
