There's nine games to play in the 2016 home and away season and each one of them count, but here's three in particular we're looking forward to.

Who: Sydney

Where: Away (SCG)

When: Saturday, July 2 4:35.

Why:  Do we need to explain this one?  Fox Footy’s Anthony Hudson’s call as the siren sounded captured what Western Buldogs fans were feeling at that moment.

“Mark this day down Western Bulldogs fans, Saturday, May the 2nd … this Club, this is just amazing, look at these scenes.”

That said, the game was over a year ago and all that matters now is the four points.  The Swans have again proven to be one of the League’s best sides and the Dogs will need to be at their best to get the W.

If nothing else, with a host of talented Bulldogs expected to return from injury, this will be a high quality game of football.

Who: Geelong

Where: Away (Skilled Stadium)

When: Friday, July 29 7:50

Why: Friday night footy is always a big deal, especially for a Club that hasn’t had the opportunity to play in the spotlight very often over the past couple of years.  And who better to take on that the Cats, even more so after the touch up they gave us last weekend.

To be the best, you have to beat the best and you can bet that Luke Beveridge and the players have poured over vision of our recent 57-point defeat looking for ways to turn it around.

Our players are competitors, they’re good enough, and they’ll be very keen to get one back on the Cats.

Who: North Melbourne

Where: Home (Etihad Stadium)

When: Saturday, August 6, 7:25

Why: Every game counts, but by the time round 20 comes around, ladder positioning will be front and centre, and for a team that wants to challenge for the top four, we will need to bank our home games.  Sound simple?  Of course, North Melbourne are a quality side and will no doubt be in a similar position but the Dogs should have the added motivation of making amends for our Round six defeat.

The final margin was just 16-points on that April night, but the bottom line was we didn’t get the job done on our first Friday night fixture of the year and a win here will be the ideal way to fill that hole.
