When the Club approached Jack Redpath with the offer of an extension on his contract, the 25-year-old former carpenter from Kyneton didn’t hesitate.

Redpath has worked with the Club’s development coaches on his versatility and although he has been trialled as a key defender, he is now shaping into one of the League's most promising key forwards.

Since recovering from an early season hip complaint, Redpath returned to the side in round 7 against the Crows and hasn’t looked back, averaging 2.5 goals a contest over his six games.

This current group of Bulldogs are a tight-knit group, and the popular 25-year-old is usually one of the figures at the centre of it all, and those friendships that were a big part of why he was so keen to continue his career at VU Whitten Oval.

“There’s 44 guys on a list and you’re close with everyone and then there’s four or five guys that you’re extra close with that are really good mates, Redpath told westernbulldogs.com.au

“So when you think about those guys, and you think about the whole group, I’ve been here for five years now, it’s a good place to be, and a good place to wake up and come to every morning.”

The Bulldogs jumped from 14th place on the ladder in 2014 to their first finals appearance in 2015, and have carried that good form into 2016, and it’s the prospect of future success that has Redpath excited about a future with this group of players.

“Seeing the way we’ve grown over the last year and a bit now, and being here from when Bevo’s got here, obviously you can see we’re on the way up.

“We obviously don’t know where we’re at yet, we played Geelong [last] weekend, and we’ve got Sydney after the bye, so there’s a few good opportunities coming up for us to see where we’re at.”
