The Sons of the West men’s health program will be bigger and better than ever when it returns in June this year, expanding to twelve separate sites across Melbourne’s West, including Ballarat for the first time.
Sons of the West is a 10-week program that aims to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of men in the Bulldogs’ heartland through a series of interactive workshops, a range of guest presenters, events and experiences.
Activities are run under the themes of healthy eating, physical activity and mental health, and if that’s not enough, the program is packed with loads of giveaways and incentives including match day experiences, customised Sons of the West hoodie and signed Western Bulldogs merchandise.
*How do you get involved? Easy! All you have to do is turn up to a session.
There are 12 locations over the six different program councils in Melton, Wyndham, Maribyrnong, Hobsons Bay, Brimbank City Council and Ballarat.
Speaking with westernbulldogs.com.au, 2015 graduate Jonathan Manallack of West Footscray said that he can’t wait to get going again in June.
“I am really pumped about the program starting again soon, he said.
“I still have a few goals to tick off and being back there again weekly with the rest of SOTW team is going to be great.
“I’m so looking forward to seeing our mates again and welcoming many new faces as well.
“Bring it on!”
2016 will be the highly successful program’s third year in operation, with the City of Ballarat partnering with the program for the first time.
